Giganotosaurus was a carcharodontosaurid from the Cretaceous. It was one of the largest theropods to ever live.

Physical appearance and biologyEdit

Giganotosaurus was one of the largest dinosaurs ever being 6 meters (20 ft) high, 13.1 meters (43 ft) long, weighing about 6.5-13.3 tons, and larger skull than Tyrannosaurus. In fact, its size exceeded Tyrannosaurus, but it was not as large as Spinosaurus. However, it was slimmer than T. rex and lacked the bone-crushing jaws that T. rex and its relatives had.

Giganotosaurus had a grayish black body with dark on its upper jaw and feet.

Behaviour and traitsEdit

Giganotosaurus is presumed to have hunted the sauropods Andesaurus, Limaysaurus, and Argentinosaurus. Some theorize that Giganotosaurus hunted in packs when preying on these large herbivores.

In Walking with Dinosaurs: Inside Their WorldEdit

Giganotosaurus is one of the dinosaurs featured in the app. In its article there a depiction of a pack of Giganotosaurus attacking an Argentinosaurus juvenile.
