Glyptodonts are an extinct family of large, heavily armored cingulate xenarthras related to the extinct pampatheres and modern armadillos.
Facts
Glyptodonts were basically giant armadillos, but their armor was solid, not in bands, as in modern species. They evolved in South America, and were some of the few South American species that moved to North America during the Great Panama Interchange. Unlike their smaller cousins, all of the glyptodonts died out during the Pleistocene Epoch.

Doedicurus was one of the featured animals in this episode. A mainly background character, the fifth episode of WWB depicted Doedicurus jousting each other for a mate with their spiked tails, successfully fighting-off a Smilodon pride and taking care of its offspring.
In the book version of this chapter, it was also shown fighting off a Terror Bird.
